Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, presentation, and service, ensuring that meals are appealing, served at the correct temperature, and appropriately portioned.
  • Utilize production sheets to guide food preparation and assist in managing costs effectively.
  • Understand and accommodate the specific dietary requirements of each resident, including allergies and special requests.
  • Assist in the receiving and checking of deliveries, as well as managing inventory control, ensuring all supplies are properly stored and labeled.
  • Participate in incident reporting and investigations related to clients and staff as necessary.
  • Report any maintenance needs for kitchen equipment and areas to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure that the kitchen environment adheres to cleanliness and organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Certification in Food Handling.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for serving the elderly population.
  • Experience in the culinary field, particularly in meal preparation for clients.
  • Previous experience working with seniors is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • A commitment to the healthcare sector and ensuring quality services for seniors.
