Key Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, presentation, and service, ensuring that meals are appealing, served at the correct temperature, and appropriately portioned.
- Utilize production sheets to guide food preparation and assist in managing costs effectively.
- Understand and accommodate the specific dietary requirements of each resident, including allergies and special requests.
- Assist in the receiving and checking of deliveries, as well as managing inventory control, ensuring all supplies are properly stored and labeled.
- Participate in incident reporting and investigations related to clients and staff as necessary.
- Report any maintenance needs for kitchen equipment and areas to the appropriate department.
- Ensure that the kitchen environment adheres to cleanliness and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Certification in Food Handling.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for serving the elderly population.
- Experience in the culinary field, particularly in meal preparation for clients.
- Previous experience working with seniors is advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- A commitment to the healthcare sector and ensuring quality services for seniors.
