About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at IWK Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring they understand their treatment and any necessary preparations.
    • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during examinations, promoting a comfortable and calming environment.
  • Diagnostic Imaging
    • Operate and maintain various types of imaging equipment, including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound machines, to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
    • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Administrative and Clerical Tasks
    • Record and process patient data, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
    • Manage and maintain accurate records of patient information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety
    • Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
    • Implement and maintain radiation protection measures, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Certification by a provincial or territorial association is required.
  • Language and Communication
    • Proficiency in English is required, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
