Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at IWK Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring they understand their treatment and any necessary preparations.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during examinations, promoting a comfortable and calming environment.
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Operate and maintain various types of imaging equipment, including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound machines, to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Administrative and Clerical Tasks
- Record and process patient data, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of patient information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance and Safety
- Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Implement and maintain radiation protection measures, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Education and Certification
- Certification by a provincial or territorial association is required.
- Language and Communication
- Proficiency in English is required, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
