Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Global Consulting line in the Burlington office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative and cost-effective structural engineering designs for industrial and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare structural engineering designs from conceptual design to detail design, tender, and construction in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards.
- Perform analysis and design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Perform site visits and inspect existing structures.
- Evaluate and analyze existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions.
- Prepare material take-offs of steel and concrete.
- Complete tasks under minimal supervision, ensuring that objectives of cost, quality, and time are met.
- Supervise the work of designers on the project team.
- Liaise with client representatives and general contractors directly.
- Manage small projects primarily led by structural scope.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from a recognized University.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in the design of industrial and/or institutional type buildings.
- Solid experience in structural design and certification of various building types and heights, including lateral load analysis.
- Proficiency in design of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, and various types of heavy concrete foundations for buildings and equipment.
- Proficiency in US and International Codes and Standards is an asset.
- Proficiency in structural engineering design software, including STAAD, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and Smart Plant.
- Experience in dealing directly with clients and contractors.
- Site inspection and reporting experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products to prepare reports, specifications, presentations, and estimates.
