Job Summary

Inovata Foods is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of goods and materials within our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Accurately receive, store, and issue inventory to production and internal locations, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and guidelines related to allergens and general warehouse best practices.
  • Material Handling: Properly stage and issue ingredients, raw materials, and packaging to production, respecting First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO) principles in accordance with the Bill of Materials, Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and customer requirements.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct accurate and timely inventory counting, cycle counting, and reporting on shortages, potential shortages, and/or damages.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper use, upkeep, and care of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and related equipment, while reporting any incidents or issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in providing a safe and clean environment within the warehouse, and support the Warehouse Lead Hand and/or Supervisor with schedule flexibility, including occasional or recurring overtime, weekends, and shift coverage.
  • Process Improvement: Support the Warehouse Management Team in maintaining, updating, and improving existing warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Communication: Cooperate with Purchasing and Production for cycle counting, material deliveries, verifications, lot changes, returns, and pick-ups.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Participate in various ad-hoc or scheduled plant or warehouse meetings, and perform other related duties as required or requested by Lead Hand, Supervisor, Manager, Department Head, or Senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Health and Safety: General knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Good computer skills.
  • Experience: Previous warehouse and distribution experience.
  • Certifications: Possession of a forklift operations license.
Working Conditions

This position has daily exposure to a food processing environment, which includes dampness and cold. Some occasional desk work, coolers, freezers, and areas external to the facility may be required. Overtime, including weekend work, may be required.
