Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Trades Helper to join our team at Island Iron Excavation Limited. This role is essential in supporting various construction activities and ensuring the smooth operation of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials efficiently.
  • Formwork and Scaffolding: Assist in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • Material Mixing: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt as required.
  • Site Maintenance: Clean and organize salvaged materials and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Debris Removal: Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Traffic Direction: Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safety and compliance.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
