Position Summary

We are seeking a Casual Speech-language Pathologist at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with clients and/or with their caregivers or other persons who regularly interact with these people for the purpose of creating environments that promote optimal communication and swallowing for adults requiring this care.
  • Contribute to the organization and the overall goals of the department/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research and education.
  • Join a dynamic and dedicated team of caring professionals as an autonomous professional who has expertise in typical development and disorders of communication/swallowing as well as assessment and intervention in these areas.
Requirements
  • Full practicing registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
  • One year's clinical experience with adults in a hospital setting and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's license where required.

The Speech-language Pathologist will work in a hospital setting, providing assessment and intervention services to adults with communication and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication abilities, be able to connect with people from all types of backgrounds, and be creative in supporting clients' goals while adhering to program guidelines.
