Aerospace AMO Transition Coordinator

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Deputy Senior Maintenance Manager, the Canadian Search and Rescue (SAR) Helicopter Acceptable Maintenance Organization (AMO) Transition Coordinator will oversee and facilitate the transition of the AMO during the Cormorant Mid Life Update (CMLU). This pivotal role will lead the AMO to ensure that all necessary program management activities are executed to prepare the AMO for the integration, support, and maintenance of the upgraded CMLU aircraft within the active Rotary Wing Search and Rescue fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate tasks and personnel for all AMO transition initiatives, including collaboration with the Cormorant Support Centre and all Main Operating Bases across Canada.
  • Collaborate closely with the CMLU Transition Manager to ensure alignment of AMO transition activities with the overarching CMLU Transition strategy.
  • Supervise the transition of tools and support equipment necessary for the upgraded aircraft across all maintenance facilities.
  • Assist the Senior Maintenance Manager in expanding the AMO's accreditation scope to encompass the CMLU upgraded aircraft.
  • Support the planning and execution of the retirement of airframes and components.
  • Work alongside the team to ensure all electronic systems are configured and operational for the upgraded aircraft.
  • Coordinate with the Cormorant Training Centre for the planning and execution of technical training programs.
  • Initiate preliminary planning for the return of CH-149 to the designated Main Operating Base.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in a business or aviation-related field, or equivalent program management experience and education.
  • Experience in the aerospace sector.
  • Strong understanding of airworthiness protocols.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
  • Experience and/or training with MS Project is advantageous.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances from Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Transport Canada.
