Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Island Health. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university and be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC). Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) is also an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services to clients with mental health and substance use issues.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to help clients achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify client needs.
  • Write clear and concise reports to document client progress.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience working with mental health and substance use clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act and Guardianship Act.
