Department: Altum Health
Location: Cambridge
Reporting To: Site Manager
Work Hours: Up to 15 hours weekly
Employment Type: Independent Contractor or Temporary Part-time (12-month contract)
We are in search of a skilled Registered Massage Therapist to join our Cambridge site. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise in rehabilitation and the return-to-work processes for injured individuals. Key responsibilities include: establishing treatment goals and creating comprehensive treatment plans based on clinical evaluations.
The massage therapist will assess the client's soft tissue condition, joint functionality, range of motion, and muscle strength. A tailored treatment plan must be developed for each client. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals within an interdisciplinary team is essential to formulate effective treatment strategies. The massage therapist will continuously evaluate client progress, gather and analyze outcome measurement data, and engage in quality improvement initiatives. Educating clients on posture enhancement and instructing them in strengthening, stretching, and rehabilitative exercises, along with relaxation techniques, is also a critical aspect of the role. Additionally, adherence to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and timely reporting of any hazards or deficiencies is required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an interdisciplinary practice is preferred
- Recognized Massage Therapy Degree/Diploma
- Registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario is mandatory
- Proof of valid malpractice insurance is required
