Job Description:

Solventum is seeking a highly skilled Automation and Control Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions that drive business growth and improve manufacturing efficiency.

The Impact You'll Make:
  • Lead efforts to improve manufacturing equipment reliability, safety, and performance through design, optimization, and implementation of robust control schemes.
  • Develop, implement, and support automation solutions using PLC systems, HMIs, motion controls, machine vision, robotics, and SCADA.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles to effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
  • Support Engineering and Maintenance teams in equipment optimization, troubleshooting, and documentation. Provide mentorship as required.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technology, network with corporate engineering teams.
  • Other duties as assigned by Engineering Supervisor.
Your Skills and Expertise:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, science, or a technical discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND minimum of two (2) years of experience in industrial automation with proficiency in Control System design and PLC/HMI programming.

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) AND minimum of six (6) years of experience in industrial automation with proficiency in Control Systems design and PLC/HMI programming.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role include:

  • Experience with any of the following: Machine Vision and Sensing (Accusentry, Cognex, Keyence), Robotics (Fanuc, UR), Machine Guarding and Safety Systems, OT Networks, and SCADA systems.
  • Allen-Bradley/Rockwell experience.
  • Hands-on experience working on automation and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligible to register as one, in Manitoba.
  • Demonstrated project leadership abilities on highly technical and complex projects.
  • Familiarity with the MedTech industry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and electrical schematic design and drawing.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Work location: Onsite – 400 Route 100, Morden, MB Canada

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
