Job Summary:

River Ridge II Retirement Residence is seeking a Full Time Recreation Aide to support the Health and Wellness Director in planning and implementing recreational activities for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up and cleaning up after recreational activities, including sports, games, movies, crafts, and music.
  • Work with residents to identify their interests and preferences for recreational activities.
  • Develop and implement activity programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Wellness Director to ensure that all residents have access to recreational activities that meet their needs and abilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • High degree of interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Experience in a hospital, long-term care, or retirement setting is desirable.
  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in recreation/leisure studies would be desirable, but not required.
  • Computer skills and ability to learn new software.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Valid Driver's License and Class F License (preferred).
  • Received at least two (2) doses of a Health Canada approved Covid-19 vaccine.
