Role Purpose
The Senior Manager, Digital Payments Strategy will spearhead the execution and facilitation of the digital payments API strategy, focusing on core payments and transaction banking APIs tailored for our clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the payments and information reporting API strategies aligned with business goals, analytical insights, client feedback, and market trends.
- Identify new opportunities to meet customer demands through client engagement, journey mapping, and industry analysis.
- Oversee the API product lifecycle from concept evaluation to user story definition and execution.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and validate business use cases, leveraging product management expertise.
- Work alongside sales teams to provide consultative support that addresses client requirements.
- Develop and prioritize the API Product Backlog, including features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Focus on client value creation and timely delivery when prioritizing the API product backlog.
- Establish and track key performance metrics to guide product decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Advise internal partners on API understanding and use cases, promoting best practices and identifying reusability opportunities.
- Engage in Agile practices to support cross-functional teams in delivering APIs, including Sprint Planning, Reviews, Daily Stand-Ups, and Retrospectives.
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary payment services and their relevance to business client needs, including Real-time Payments and ISO 20022 messaging.
- Experience in the Product Development Lifecycle, particularly in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of the evolving payments landscape, including FinTech and PayTech sectors.
- Ability to work autonomously and efficiently to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficient conflict management skills with the ability to persuade and negotiate effectively.
- 7+ years of experience in the Financial Services sector with a focus on product management and digital product development.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in cash management and payments product management.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
- Fluency in discussions regarding API Product Management, Developer Experience, and Emerging Technologies.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale products in collaborative environments.
- Recognized as a thought leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
