Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labourer to join our team at the City of Mississauga. As a Labourer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to construction, maintenance, and repair of city infrastructure. This includes cleaning and maintaining sidewalks, streets, roads, and grounds, as well as operating power equipment such as trimmers, blowers, and concrete saws.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of a crew to clean and maintain city infrastructure
  • Operate power equipment such as trimmers, blowers, and concrete saws
  • Load and unload materials and equipment
  • Assist heavy equipment operators with securing equipment attachments and guiding them
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Comply with legislative requirements, CUPE 66 Collective Agreement, and City policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Ability to lift, pull, and carry heavy objects
Working Conditions

The Labourer will work in a variety of weather conditions and be exposed to noise, vibration, and unpleasant smells. The Labourer will also be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
