Job Title: Child and Youth Care Worker

We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Care Worker to join our team at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. As a Child and Youth Care Worker, you will work directly with students who are experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and develop intervention plans to support students with social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs
  • Deliver programs in areas such as bullying prevention, self-esteem, social skills, conflict resolution, and emotion management
  • Liaise with school staff, parents, and community agencies to best support the child
  • Provide intensive support for students in crisis as agreed between the school Administrator and the Learning Services department

Requirements:

  • Child and Youth Care Worker Diploma (3 year) or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years similar work experience
  • BMS (Behavioural Management System) is a definite asset
  • Courses related to understanding autism
  • First Aid Certificate is a definite asset
  • Experience supporting students with autism and/or behavioral difficulties
  • Experience using data to understand behavior
  • Have a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario driver's license as travel throughout the Waterloo Region may be required

Working Conditions:

  • Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Work schedule determined by the Supervisor
  • Approximately 41 weeks/year
  • Location: To Be Determined (Assigned to where the student needs are in the system)
