Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to enhance our team. This role involves overseeing a range of electrical construction projects, ensuring they are initiated and completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with all pertinent regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the electrical technical authority for Field Operations and Facilities.
  • Design unique electrical systems in-house for specific projects, adhering to APEGA PPMP standards.
  • For larger projects involving external engineering firms, supervise their design and equipment procurement processes, coordinating with onsite Field Construction Coordinators.
  • Facilitate the construction and modification of electrical facilities, utilizing your expertise to review existing plans, source equipment, manage electrical contractors, and schedule tasks.
  • Oversee the collection of as-built drawings, ensuring accurate tracking and distribution to the drafting department.
  • Specify equipment for procurement across various voltage levels and provide guidance to Field Operations and Facilities teams on equipment selection.
  • Manage high-voltage power projects, including engineering, procurement, and construction of transmission lines and substations.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project and facilities management.
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology with a Professional Licensee Designation from APEGA, or a BSc in Electrical Engineering with a Professional Engineer Designation from APEGA.
  • Strong understanding of environmental guidelines, safety regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, and Alberta Safety Codes Act.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
