Job Description

Job Purpose

This role is accountable for the strategic planning and oversight of the hotel's marketing and public relations efforts to achieve optimal occupancy rates, maximize revenue, and meet or exceed the hotel's profit targets.

Main Responsibilities, among others:

Business Performance

  • Foster strong relationships with both local and international media outlets.
  • Maintain an updated list of media contacts across various sectors including travel, leisure, lifestyle, entertainment, business, and culinary.
  • Implement media placements for the hotel through press releases and personal outreach.
  • Design and promote business and leisure travel initiatives; disseminate information to the press and target audiences.
  • Identify and explore beneficial media partnerships where applicable.
  • Act as the hotel's spokesperson, as designated by the General Manager, to provide official statements to the media, particularly during crisis situations.
  • Manage a comprehensive photo/electronic library of the hotel’s Executive Committee and other significant aspects of the hotel.
  • Regularly update and maintain the hotel's website.
  • Submit stories and images to media outlets consistently. Monitor news coverage and circulate findings internally.
  • Keep the hotel press kit current, including news releases, Executive Committee biographies, and photographs.
  • Develop PR & Communications strategies that support sales and food & beverage initiatives.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in creating and producing sales support materials (newsletters, brochures, promotional materials, in-room information, guides, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager in the creation of signage, menus, and other collateral materials.
  • Contribute to employee newsletters, announcements, and other printed materials published by the Talent & Culture department.
  • Review all printed materials to ensure compliance with corporate identity standards.
  • Coordinate photography sessions for VIP guests and maintain archives.
  • Organize all special events and promotions to maximize publicity.
  • Assess requests for hotel donations of services or financial contributions from civil, social, and charitable organizations; respond to inquiries, coordinate reservations, and prepare gift certificates; represent the hotel in major civic or community programs.

Qualifications

Profile

Knowledge and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and public relations management or at least 2 years in a similar role with a proven track record.
  • A high level of professionalism with a strong understanding of global markets and business acumen.
  • Exceptional reading, writing, and verbal proficiency in the English language.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
