Mechanics Bank is currently seeking a skilled Universal Banker to join our team at our branch office.

About the Role:

  • Under general supervision, independently and accurately perform the full range of teller and new accounts transactions according to established procedures.
  • Provide dual control support, deliver excellent customer service, and be responsible for the sales and servicing of all Bank products and services.
  • Work with the sales team to achieve personal goals in the areas of deposit growth, business relationship growth, and consumer relationship growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine teller transactions, new account transactions, and work directly with customers.
  • Assist customers with account maintenance, online banking, mobile banking, and other complex account issues.
  • Provide comprehensive deposit services to individuals, fiduciary, and small businesses in a retail office.
  • Review customer transactions for red flags and fraudulent items.
  • Represent the Bank and its products and services with pride and enthusiasm.
  • Utilize sales techniques to uncover customer needs and present the bank's products and services.
  • Gather data and process various reports and forms to ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Approximately 10% travel is required, typically within a 50-mile radius.
  • Notary license preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of banking experience in operations and sales required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $28.00.
  • Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
