Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as a Mental Health Specialist. In this role, you will work with individuals who require frequent crisis intervention and risk assessment, providing psychiatric and addictions treatment methodologies, crisis intervention and response techniques, and strategies for positive change and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric and addictions treatment methodologies, crisis intervention and response techniques, and strategies for positive change and independence.
  • Conduct psychiatric and suicide/homicide risk assessments, and develop treatment plans to address mental health and addiction issues.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of available programs and services, their interrelationships, and their function in delivering care in the community.
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act, Child Protection legislation, and the Adult Guardianship Act.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related discipline from an approved post-secondary institution.
  • Recognized post-basic education related to mental illness and/or alcohol and drug addiction.
  • Two years' recent related experience in areas requiring frequent crisis intervention and risk assessment.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
