About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at SAMMY'S EATERY AND WINE BAR LTD. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all dishes and equipment are sanitized and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry and replace linen, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, carts, and waste disposal units
  • Store dishes and other items in designated areas, maintaining a tidy and organized workspace
  • Wash and sanitize dishes and other items by hand, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Scour pots and pans to ensure they are clean and free of food residue
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items, following established recipes and guidelines
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and within date
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs, maintaining a high level of quality and presentation
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment
  • Handle and store cleaning products, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment
  • Sharpen kitchen knives, ensuring they are in good condition and ready for use
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, adhering to health and safety standards
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Physical ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and stand for long periods
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining a high level of energy and productivity throughout their shift.
