Job Title: Research Project Manager Clinical Trials

BC Cancer is seeking a highly skilled Research Project Manager to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our Clinical Trials Unit, you will play a critical role in the development and management of research projects, ensuring the highest level of quality and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to develop research projects and contribute to the establishment of a comprehensive research program.
  • Prepare and submit ethical review applications, manage regulatory documentation, and liaise with participating sites.
  • Provide project management services, including planning, leading, and tracking research projects.
  • Consult with stakeholders to identify opportunities for new initiatives, grants, and projects.
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of procedures and processes for research projects.
  • Manage financial resources and develop budgets for new studies.
  • Direct the activities of assigned staff and establish clear definitions of responsibility.
  • Contribute to research design, development of research tools, and follow-up.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, including reports to funding agencies.
  • Coordinate communications activities for research initiatives and projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field, plus a minimum of five years of research experience in the health care sector.
  • Certification such as ACRP or SOCRA, or Clinical Research Associate/Coordinator Certification preferred.
  • Sound understanding of clinical trials with a specialization in oncology.
  • Extensive knowledge of scientific terminology and research methodology in the health sector.
  • Ability to evaluate service delivery and make oral and written presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database platforms such as Microsoft Access and RedCap.
  • Proven leadership skills and team/collaborative skills.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
