About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Emmanuel House Hospice. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals who are nearing the end of their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered care to residents, respecting their personal and cultural needs and preferences.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support residents with their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Document resident care and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • PSW certificate, in good standing from an approved and recognized institution.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certificate.
  • Experience working with individuals in the end of life or with a life-limiting illness.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and assessment skills.
  • Enhanced training in palliative/end of life care, such as Fundamentals in Hospice Palliative Care, considered an asset.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule that includes days and nights.
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset.
