About the Role:

Metrolinx is seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Innovation and Information Technology group, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and other stakeholders to develop future state network infrastructure architecture and roadmaps.
  • Develop and document business cases for identified needs and proposed roadmaps.
  • Assist in translating network infrastructure roadmaps into a portfolio of programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Map business needs into related network infrastructure technology requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and roadmap business improvements.
  • Design and maintain network infrastructure architecture and detailed designs.
  • Define network infrastructure standards and principles.
  • Develop high-value engineered network infrastructure solutions.
  • Support project teams, operations, and other stakeholders with expertise.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated related experience contributing to the success of midsize-to-large initiatives with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or higher is required.
  • Experience with routing, switching, multicasting, QoS, infrastructure services, cloud IaaS and PaaS, virtualization, containerization, load balancers, Cisco products, wireless networks, VPN, WAN, LAN, network automation, telecommunications systems, and cloud networking.
  • Practical knowledge of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with multiple Agile Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Experience collaborating with and leading teams working in Lean-Agile delivery methods.
  • Experience leading teams designing, architecting, delivering, and supporting network infrastructure in complex and critical environments.
  • Experience with security and compliance.
  • Experience designing, architecting, delivering, and supporting network infrastructure with high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, interpersonal, and oral/written/presentation skills.
  • Experience with ITIL process.
  • Ability to measure and communicate performance management to key stakeholders.
