At Electronic Arts, the Senior Game Product Strategist plays a pivotal role in collaboration with the NHL Live Content Team to deliver an immersive and rewarding live service experience for players. This position requires a blend of strategic insight and creative thinking to develop actionable plans and content strategies that enhance player engagement. Reporting directly to the NHL Lead Producer, you will work alongside Producers, Game Designers, Artists, and external collaborators to drive the growth of NHL's live service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee live content, campaigns, and features aimed at maximizing player acquisition, engagement, and monetization throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses of in-game economy trends, utilizing data insights to influence key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with Product and Franchise teams to establish a roadmap that incorporates essential monetization strategies, including Features, Content, Events, Marketing campaigns, Offers, Promotions, Regionalization, Segmentation, A/B testing, and Platforms.
  • Set performance indicators in partnership with the Live Services Team to assess player base health and product performance over time.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop monetization initiatives and promote a culture of test-learn-iterate across platforms.
  • Assist in Live Service forecasting and business review processes.
  • Engage closely with the game team to implement best practices in creating and optimizing virtual economy models.
  • Establish and execute game health review cycles that integrate internal and external feedback along with critical product metrics to enhance the offering.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of gaming trends and insights, particularly in the realm of Live Service games.
  • Transform real-world NHL games and events into innovative live content concepts that enrich the sports entertainment experience for players.
  • Manage testing methodologies, develop A/B testing campaigns, and conduct thorough postmortems.
  • Collaborate with internal technical partners to develop technologies that impact the game or live service.
  • Work with Central teams to define requirements for all player-facing features beyond the game team's scope.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Management, Game Design, or a related field, specifically in Live Services.
  • A collaborative team player who brings enthusiasm and energy to the workplace.
  • Proficient in utilizing data and insights to guide product development, with a strong background in data-driven design.
  • Ability to analyze in-game trends using data insights to influence key performance indicators.
  • Experience in communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including presenting information to multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Desirable but not mandatory: A fan of NHL with a solid understanding of its core mechanics and live features.
  • Experience in:
  • Successfully delivering and maintaining at least one live service console and/or mobile game throughout its product lifecycle.
  • Creating content, campaigns, and features that enhance player acquisition, engagement, and monetization.
  • Gaining insights and formulating strategies through analytical metrics-driven analysis and design experimentation.

This position is not applicable in Quebec.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary ranges provided below reflect the defined geographic market pay zones. If you reside outside these areas, a recruiter will provide information on the salary range and benefits specific to your location.

Electronic Arts has disclosed the expected base salary ranges for this role in good faith as of the time of this posting. The salary offered will be determined based on various relevant business and candidate factors, including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.

Base Salary Ranges

  • British Columbia (depending on location, e.g., Vancouver vs. Victoria):
    • $126,000 - $176,300 CAD

Annually, the base salary is just one component of the overall compensation package at Electronic Arts. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days of sick leave annually, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary for new parents (12 weeks for maternity leave and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and a retirement plan for regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also qualify for bonuses and equity.
