Python Developer - IT

About the Role:

Nexus Systems Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Python Developer to join our IT team. As a Python Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing applications and solutions to support Global Banking and Markets client data processing, reporting, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop complex software components and applications using Python and shell scripting.
  2. Analyze business requirements and transform them into robust technical specifications.
  3. Work within a Python and shell scripting ecosystem to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  4. Collaborate with the team to identify and solve problems independently.
  5. Conduct code review and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  6. Optimize and improve legacy platform by rewriting existing code.

Requirements:

  1. 8+ years' experience using a relevant tech stack.
  2. 5+ years' experience with Python.
  3. 5+ years' experience with Bash Shell Scripting.
  4. 5+ years' experience with Linux.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Apache Airflow experience is an asset.
  2. Django/ Flask/ Python framework experience is an asset.
  3. Relational database experience is an asset.
  4. Recent projects working with Kafka.
  5. Redis is an asset.

Soft Skills:

  1. Communication.
  2. Problem Solving.
  3. Team player, strong team component.
  4. Self-managed.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field required.
