About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Assistant to join our team at Papa Geordie Gas & Grocery. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked bakery.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by adhering to recipes and production procedures.
  • Training and Development: Train staff on new recipes, production procedures, and quality control measures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
