Role: Dock Supervisor

Job Summary:

Challenger Motor Freight Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Dock Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods through our dock operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to dock staff, ensuring they are adequately trained to perform their duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the dock area to ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Transport Canada mandates.
  • Optimize the use of staff and equipment to meet customer service requirements, ensuring all freight is unloaded, staged, and loaded safely and timely.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, appointment coordinators, and dispatch staff regarding service/delivery performance.
  • Investigate and report any damage to equipment, facilities, or freight, ensuring photographs and reports are completed promptly.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the transportation, logistics, or distribution sector.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Good computer skills and attention to detail.
