Key Responsibilities- Program Planning and Implementation: Assist in the planning, organizing, and implementation of meaningful programs that promote socialization, recreation, and overall well-being of our residents.
- Team Collaboration: Promote and support a team environment, working co-operatively with the Program Manager and facility volunteers to achieve common goals.
- Resident Care and Support: Assist with the maintenance of good human relations with residents, families, volunteers, and staff of other departments, ensuring a high level of care and support.
- Equipment Maintenance: Share responsibility for the care of equipment in the department, ensuring it is properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Health and Safety: Follow Occupational Health & Safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
- Professional Development: Attend in-service education and participate in team conferences to plan, develop, and assess individual resident care plans.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or other authorized personnel.
- Community college recreation certificate or diploma, or equivalent.
- Experience working with seniors in a long-term care setting.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Computer skills an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
