The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and skilled Anesthesiologist for a full-time locum position at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) in Sydney, Nova Scotia. This role is available for immediate engagement for a qualified candidate holding Royal College Canada certification and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of 7 Anesthesiologists serving the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and its surrounding areas, which encompasses a catchment population exceeding 150, #.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, there are opportunities for involvement in research and medical education with Dalhousie University, should this align with your professional interests.

Cape Breton Regional Hospital is a 250-bed tertiary care facility that offers a comprehensive range of medical services to patients within the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The Anesthesiology department is well-equipped to deliver a full spectrum of specialized care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive anesthetic care to patients within the Eastern Zone and participate in on-call duties.
  2. Accountable to the Zone Department Head of Anesthesia for professional responsibilities and quality of practice, adhering to the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Work Schedule
  1. Full-time commitment.
  2. On-call requirements.
Qualifications
  1. Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  2. Must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  3. Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required.
