Job Title: Relief Worker

Phoenix Youth Programs is seeking a Relief Worker to provide support and programming for youth in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

As a Relief Worker, you will be responsible for providing a supportive environment that promotes youth empowerment, assessing and addressing the needs of the programs' youth, including crisis intervention, and completing and maintaining all logs, files, and records as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and programming for youth, promoting their empowerment and well-being.
  • Assess and address the needs of the programs' youth, including crisis intervention and providing a safe and secure setting.
  • Complete and maintain all logs, files, and records as required, ensuring confidentiality is protected.
  • Supervise and monitor the program's activities, ensuring policies, security, and safety are maintained.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Social Work or any other relevant human services or social science diploma or degree.
  • Proven track record in establishing good working relationships with youth.
  • Demonstrated skills in the development of rapport and trust with youth, creating a safe and secure setting, and ensuring youth services are offered in a therapeutic and non-judgmental manner.
  • Ability to work from a youth-centred approach.
  • Demonstrated exceptional level of interpersonal, communication, organizational, and youth service skills.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention (Crisis Prevention Institute preferable), suicide intervention (ASIST), standard first aid, or a commitment to secure those requirements within six months of being hired.

  • $22.00 per hour ($23.00 per hour for overnight shifts).

  • Minimum of 2 staff at all times for all Shelter work shifts.
