Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced leader to oversee and direct a team of unionized skilled trades and apprentices in our mechanical shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing equipment repair workflow, collaborating with area supervisors, and maintaining shop organization and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct a team of unionized skilled trades and apprentices
- Manage equipment repair workflow in the shop and in CMMS (SAP)
- Collaborate with area supervisors to prioritize shop work
- Maintain shop organization and cleanliness
- Manage shop consumables and tools
- Assist in technical challenges, including diagnostics and parts support
- Communicate job expectations, enforce systems, policies, and procedures
- Lead, support, and assist fellow team members
- Optimize productivity and efficiency within the shop
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership/supervisory role in an industrial setting
- Technologist or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Certified Tradesperson
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude
- Overtime work may be required
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
