About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Petroleum Refinery Process Engineer to join our team at Ecolomondo Environmental (Hawkesbury) Inc. in Hawkesbury, ON.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality control on programs, procedures, and control strategies to ensure optimal process performance.
  • Determine product specifications and establish new quality control programs and strategies.
  • Evaluate chemical process technology and equipment to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct economic and technical feasibility studies to inform process optimization decisions.
  • Develop guidelines and specifications for the handling of dangerous chemicals, environmental protection, and standards for foods, materials, and consumer goods.
  • Oversee the construction, modification, operation, and maintenance of pilot plants, processing units, or processing plants.
  • Design plant layouts and production facilities to optimize process efficiency.
  • Control process machinery using a distributed control system and process computers.
  • Communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the development of chemical engineering processes, studies of chemical engineering procurement, construction, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Hire, supervise, and train or oversee the training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques.
  • Process data to conduct basic analyses of trends and inform process optimization decisions.
  • Participate in the commercialization of new products and processes.
  • Consult with production supervisors to schedule production runs in a cost- and time-efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Experience in industrial chemicals manufacturing, plastics manufacturing, metal extraction or refining, energy processing, manufacturing and industrial plant, or oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of process control, industrial chemistry, and renewable resources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide efficient interpersonal skills.
  • Basic security clearance and criminal record check.
