The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our Senior's Health Care Program within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care portfolio. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing assessment, intervention, teaching, research, and consultative services to address the psychosocial needs of veterans and residents living at Camp Hill Long Term Care.
You will work collaboratively with our inter-professional team to develop and implement care plans, provide consultation to other healthcare providers, and support the development of programs that promote the psychosocial well-being of our clients.
This is a long-term assignment, part-time (50%) position, requiring 37.5 hours bi-weekly for approximately 12 months. The successful candidate will be required to provide 1:1 assessment and intervention, assist with the development of interdisciplinary care plans, and provide consultation to other members of the Camp Hill healthcare team.
About You- You must have a doctoral degree from a recognized, accredited program in Clinical Psychology with a strong clinical health psychology background and experience working with elderly populations.
- A one-year accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship is required.
- You must be registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP).
- Familiarity with clinical health psychology assessment and intervention is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dementia and other diagnoses (medical, psychological) leading to placement in long-term care is highly desirable.
- You must have demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating diagnoses and implementing treatment plans.
- You must be self-directed in your practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team while dealing with challenging clinical situations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in clinical research and program evaluation would be an asset.
- Experience in clinical supervision of psychology trainees would be an asset.
- Experience with training program development and evaluation would be an asset.
- Competencies in other languages, particularly French, would be an asset.
- This is a long-term assignment, part-time (50%) position, requiring 37.5 hours bi-weekly for approximately 12 months.
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $62.74. Additionally, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
