As a Train Revenue Optimization Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing strategies for inventory management and action plans that aim to maximize revenue based on budget forecasts, demand trends, and capacity for various long-haul trains and markets.
Your responsibilities will include confirming group requests and supporting revenue management reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate inventory management strategies, objectives, and action plans while being accountable for passenger revenue performance for designated long-haul trains and markets, aligned with budget forecasts, capacity, and demand.
- Enhance seat allocations at the train level to optimize revenues utilizing VIA's revenue management forecasting tools. Analyze data to predict passenger demand by train and booking class.
- Proactively identify revenue risks and communicate them to relevant commercial departments (Product, Sales, and Network Planning). Ensure that market strategies and challenges are effectively communicated and that all teams are aligned. Gather competitive data from the Sales group, provide capacity recommendations to the Network Planning group, and inform Product and Advertising groups about sales initiatives.
- Monitor revenue management KPIs (ARRs, segment and OD reports, RASM, etc.). Conduct daily analyses of competition and train performance, focusing on critical routes. Measure performance outcomes and adjust strategies to maximize revenue.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and distribution of Revenue Management and Commercial reports. Confirm group requests based on the allocation strategies of other Train Revenue Optimization Analysts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Management Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue management and yield optimization.
- Three to five years of experience with revenue management systems and proficiency in statistics and data mining.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with analytical tools and/or software.
- Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken communication.
- Experience with S3P is considered a significant advantage.
