Job Summary

The Home Care Attendant is responsible for providing personalized care and support services to clients in need. Working under the guidance of a Home Care Resource Coordinator, the role involves assisting individuals to maintain their independence and safety in their homes. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate critical thinking skills, independence, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing personal care and support services to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assisting with daily living activities, such as meal preparation and household management
  • Supporting clients with mobility and transfer needs
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in client condition or safety concerns
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education
  • Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with community component
  • Experience in community care settings
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Respect for cultural diversity and confidentiality
Conditions
  • Clear criminal record and abuse registry checks
  • Immunization as per company policy
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle
