ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Lead Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in steering the engineering division and senior leadership through various technical challenges. You will be recognized as an authority in the field, influencing and shaping the development of next-generation technologies that align with Cisco's extensive product offerings. The vastness and diversity of our data are unmatched, and as the digital landscape evolves, so do we. This position will spearhead initiatives that cultivate a robust engineering ecosystem strategy across multiple strategic areas, including standards, open-source contributions, research, and intellectual property management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include leading applied research and engineering efforts to innovate new products and processes. Our technology stack encompasses Java and Python, alongside a variety of proprietary tools built on frameworks such as Apache Spark and TensorFlow, as well as other Big Data technologies.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in guiding teams through the orchestration of significant, high-impact projects and the development of large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven track record in advising engineering leaders on critical technical and product challenges.
- Bachelor's degree with 17 years of experience, Master's degree with 14 years, or PhD with 10 years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A successful history of navigating the intricacies of large-scale production environments, ensuring the smooth integration of highly distributed data and networking platforms into internet-scale services.
- As a strategic leader, you will excel in making crucial technical decisions and crafting roadmaps that drive the success of innovative projects related to the Network Assurance Roadmap.
- Expertise in harmonizing the efforts of cross-functional teams, including researchers, data scientists, network engineers, and infrastructure specialists, fostering collaboration between business objectives and technological advancements.
- PhD with 15 years of relevant industry experience is highly preferred.
