Position Overview

The Community Association Manager will undertake responsibilities to ensure properties are managed and operated in alignment with company objectives, while facilitating solutions to issues that arise between communities and internal support teams, guided by established policies and precedents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards at all times
  • Conduct business with the utmost standards of personal, professional, and ethical integrity
  • Provide leadership and management to properties within the assigned region and portfolio
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director to set and communicate established goals
  • Ensure that the objectives of the company and its clients are consistently achieved
  • Oversee the operations of a team across various properties while maintaining excellence in processes, methods, and personnel
  • Manage process improvement and quality control of property management functions to enhance productivity and ensure quality service delivery
  • Offer guidance and direction while assisting in the investigation and resolution of any issues that may arise
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Board of Directors and internal departments
  • Conduct regular site inspections, identify deficiencies, and provide recommendations and action plans for property enhancement
  • Foster harmonious employee/employer relations
  • Stay informed of changes in rules, statutes, or regulations and communicate updates to staff
  • Direct staff training when new procedures are necessary to comply with changes

Qualifications

  • Possess a General License in good standing
  • RCM or other recognized property management designation preferred
  • A seasoned Condominium Manager with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in financial accounting within commercial real estate, financial reporting, and budgeting are essential
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, engineering, and all aspects of property operations and building management is advantageous
  • Familiarity with the application of the Condominium Act in community operations
  • Strong organizational, motivational, leadership, management, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and make sound judgments and decisions
  • Capability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, leases, and regulations
  • Knowledge of mechanical operations of buildings and equipment is preferred
  • Proficient in PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Availability for emergency on-call and after-hours service, as well as evening meeting commitments

Travel Requirements

Travel to various properties and the head office is necessary.
