About the Role

Tower Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Draftsperson to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed engineering designs and drawings, conducting research, and investigating mechanical failures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare engineering designs and drawings using CAD software
  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems
  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems
  • Design power plants, machines, and equipment
  • Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications for machinery and systems
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, and review and approve designs, calculations, and cost estimates
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance
Requirements
  • Drafting Trade Certification
  • Certification by a provincial or territorial association
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Autodesk REVIT
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and design principles
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
