Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in the ICU/CCU, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient and family-focused nursing care.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities. You will utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. You will also teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient and family-centered care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex patient needs
  • Teach and counsel patients and their families on health promotion and maintenance
  • Advocate for patients and their families to ensure their needs are met

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Completion of the CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (if not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Relevant skills and experience in nursing practice
