Position Title: Intermediate Technology Specialist, Digital Developer
Reports To: Technology Manager, Individual Insurance IT
Department: IT Individual Insurance
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This position offers a hybrid work model. You will be required to work in the office a minimum of two (2) consecutive days every other week, along with an additional day each month. You are encouraged to utilize the office more frequently if desired.
The Opportunity: The Intermediate Technology Specialist position presents an exciting chance to engage with one of our agile teams within Individual Insurance. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and provide technological solutions that align with their strategies. This role involves developing and implementing technologies that cater to both internal and external clients, while also offering technical leadership to enhance our capabilities and technologies.
This position will collaborate with a cross-functional agile team to design, test, launch, and refine solutions aimed at optimizing the new business experience in Individual Insurance, while also maintaining and improving shared technology solutions and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct unit testing of code, achieving objectives set by business partners. You will adhere to best practices and guidelines, collaborating with a delivery team to ensure clarity on objectives, requirements, and specifications.
- Proficient coding experience in React, AngularJS, .NET, C#, with knowledge of SQL and KQL being advantageous.
- Familiarity with tools and development frameworks such as PowerShell, NPM, VSC, GIT, Docker, and K8S.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code applied to DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud security best practices, and well-architected frameworks.
- Demonstrated expertise in web/mobile design and object-oriented programming principles.
- Hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting hardware and/or application software.
- Engage others in planning and execution to gain their support.
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours to meet project deadlines and support weekend implementations, including participation in rotating on-call shifts.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT with diverse domain knowledge.
- A post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with React, .NET, C#, PWAs, APIs, Azure DevOps/Cloud, SQL, Design Library Systems, along with experience in scrum delivery, testing automation, and automating pipelines.
