About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Architect to join our team at Synopsys, Inc. As a Cybersecurity Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing secure operating environments for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implement Secure Operating Environments: Collaborate with other architects and business stakeholders to capture security and business needs, including cost-benefit, industry trends, and technology evolution projections to meet the ever-increasing information security controls and protections expected by our customers and their clients.
  2. Build and Maintain Relationships: Build close relationships and collaborate with staff from IT, R&D, cloud operations, product management, and business development groups to ensure seamless integration of security solutions.
  3. Guide Integration of Security Solutions: Guide the successful integration of SIG solutions into various operating environments, ensuring that security controls are properly implemented and maintained.
  4. Review and Design Security Controls: Review designs involving security controls such as authentication, authorization, data protection, encryption, secrets management, and other security measures to ensure they meet the required standards.
  5. Design and Architect Complex Security Features: Design and architect complex non-functional features such as multitenancy, high availability, disaster recovery, and zero-downtime patching capabilities to ensure the security and reliability of our solutions.
  6. Define and Foster Adoption of Security Best Practices: Define and foster adoption of common security patterns and best practices across the organization to ensure consistency and effectiveness in security measures.
  7. Provide Security Mentorship and Thought Leadership: Provide enterprise security mentorship and thought leadership for software engineers in the product teams to educate them on security needs and solutions.
Qualifications
  1. Leadership and Technical Expertise: Strong leadership, technical, and business acumen, with experience in securing enterprise operating environments, and critical-thinking skills and tact necessary to question conventional wisdom to drive innovation while maintaining security.
  2. Experience and Knowledge: 7+ years of experience defining secure operating environments, including traditional on-premises, virtual, and cloud environments using a variety of technology solutions, with experience designing complex SaaS application and deployment architectures, and strong knowledge of IT, network, and cloud vulnerabilities and security controls.
  3. Cloud and Security Expertise: Experience with cloud databases and application-level encryption, familiar with security in cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and broad understanding of standards and controls necessary to maintain security and compliance obligations.
  4. DevOps and Automation: Experience in leveraging services and techniques to ensure a high level of data protection, and experience with DevOps and SaaS, and an understanding of how to use modern automation, build, and orchestration technology to accelerate time to value for our customers in public and private cloud environments.
  5. Performance, Scalability, and Availability: An innate understanding of issues that affect the performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability of complex software systems with an emphasis on high-volume data management within enterprise and/or web-scale products and platforms that operate under strict SLAs.
  6. Authentication and Security Testing: Working knowledge of authentication mechanisms such as OIDC, SAML, and Identity Federation, and good understanding of network, application, and cloud security testing techniques.
  7. Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and technical leadership skills, self-motivated, and works with minimal direction, with the ability to learn quickly and independently in complex technical environments.
  8. Education: A Bachelor's in computer science or engineering; advanced degree preferred.
