Position Overview:

As a Survey Assistant with GeoVerra, you will play a vital role in our operations, contributing to a culture that prioritizes safety and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive punctually and prepared for your assigned duties.
  • Assist with diverse tasks as needed, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are well-maintained at project sites and in vehicles.
  • Foster a positive team environment and represent the company with professionalism.
  • Support the Crew Chief in meeting project deadlines and objectives.
  • Complete essential safety training and demonstrate competent operation of all equipment.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols established by clients, OH&S, and the GeoVerra Safety program.
  • Engage in Emergency Response Planning, Hazard Assessments, and Job Safety Analysis, and participate in daily safety meetings.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in surveying or similar outdoor roles is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for project requirements.
  • Availability to respond to work situations outside standard hours.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with survey methodologies is a plus.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Completion of safety training in First Aid, H2S, and CSTS is beneficial.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per industry standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Out-of-town assignments may be required, including potential shift work.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
