About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering professional to join our team at Intact. As a key member of our data science lab, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering efficient, effective, and secure data pipelines.

With a strong background in data engineering, analysis, and technical leadership, you will work closely with our data scientists, quality analysts, business analysts, application architects, and data architects to implement industry best practices and drive innovation in our data engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver efficient, effective, and secure data pipelines using cloud technologies such as Databricks, Amazon Web Services, and Snowflake.
  • Participate in the implementation of industry best practices and drive innovation in our data engineering practice.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members to grow our data engineering practice and make our lab an industry benchmark.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, ETL development, or Data Warehousing.
  • Experience in Big Data and Cloud technologies for processing large volumes of data.
  • Understanding of data management, security, and data classification.
  • Understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Strong proficiency in the Python programming language and the PySpark Framework.
  • Bilingualism required (French/English) - ability to interact with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
