About the RoleThe successful applicant will join our Energy Transition Group, working remotely from Colombia. As a Geophysical Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Analytics for the Energy Transition. Your primary responsibilities will include acquiring, processing, and reporting on microseismic data related to Energy Transition.
You will work closely with multiple groups, including Data Processing, Specialists, Software, Wireline, Field Services, and Project Management teams, to ensure deadlines are met and client deliverables are optimized. This position requires a strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
About the Duties- Project setup, configuration, and optimization
- Microseismic Data Processing (picking, event location, source parameter calculations)
- Maintain and monitor site performance and health, updating site parameters as needed (processing files, sensor files, triggering, etc.)
- Data Interpretation
- Report Writing
- On-call response – evening, weekends, and holidays
- Potential for Office support – up to 12 hours per day, either during the day or night
- Integration of geological and geophysical data sets
- Modeling/Feasibility Analyses and array designs
- Participation in client meetings/presentations
- Potential to participate in advanced microseismic analyses – example: SMTI picking, 3DVM building
- Potential for short-term travel to site, for client meetings or for conferences
- Strong knowledge of English
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field
- P.Geo, P.Eng, P.Geoph, or the ability to obtain said designations is considered an asset
- 0-2 years of work experience. Seismology/microseismic experience is considered an asset
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Work under guidance of managers and project managers
- Effective communication (oral and written)
- Ability to continuously learn
- Ability to use microseismic systems and installation tools
- Proficiency in MS Office, ESG software suite
- Ability to program is an asset
- Good problem-solving skills
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
- Knowledge of the principles of geophysics and microseismics
- Ability to learn new computer software is essential
- Possess excellent organizational skills
- Self-reliant, independent, self-directed, energetic, and driven to succeed
- Passion for excellence, focused on providing high-quality deliverables and an appreciation that detail is very important
