Senior Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Plan Group Inc. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in developing competitive bids and delivering high-quality estimates to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand job specifications and drawings to develop accurate estimates
  • Conduct site/tender walkthroughs to identify potential issues and develop proactive solutions
  • Produce material and labour take-offs using estimating software to develop detailed quotations
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to gather information and clarify specifications
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain pricing for inclusion in final quotations
  • Participate in bid review meetings and handover meetings with project management teams
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years of estimating experience in mechanical estimating or the mechanical construction industry
  • Mechanical Engineering degree, diploma, or related education, and/or trade experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Accubid Enterprise
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial piping systems
  • Ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and proposal presentations
