Luma Pictures is seeking talented mid to senior level Lighting Artists for short-term contracts. The Lighting Artist will play a crucial role in the illumination and rendering of computer-generated objects and environments for visual effects in feature films.

Important Note: All positions are remote. Candidates must possess the legal right to work in Canada.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop lighting and look for the seamless integration of CG elements into live-action footage.
  • Create lighting and look development for fully CG scenes.
  • Enhance render setups for optimal usage of render farms while improving output quality.
  • Design lighting rigs for use by fellow artists.
  • Exhibit technical skills by creating scripts and tools to streamline workflows (preferred but not mandatory).
Your Qualifications:
  • A minimum of four to five years of experience as a Lighting Artist in a VFX production setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Katana.
  • Familiarity with Arnold for Katana.
  • Experience with compositing techniques in Nuke.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of multi-pass 3D compositing.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • A solid work ethic and a collaborative team spirit.
  • A proactive approach with a focus on achieving results.
