The Neuropsychologist operates within a consultative framework, delivering psychological services as a key resource for patients at Providence Care Hospital. This role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, aligning with our Collaborative Practice Model and Care Approach. The primary objective is to support patients in attaining optimal functional independence while reducing disability during their hospital stay.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a CPA and/or APA accredited institution
  • Preferred completion of CPA and/or APA accredited internship/residency
  • Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario for Clinical Neuropsychology with Adults
  • Preferred registration for Clinical Neuropsychology with Seniors
  • Preferred registration for Rehabilitation Psychology
  • Consideration for registration with the College of Psychologists for supervised practice
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in neuropsychological assessment and treatment planning
  • Experience in group psychotherapy is an asset
  • Current or eligible for clinical supervisor/adjunct status at Queen's University
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient and family-centered care
  • Screen and prioritize patient referrals
  • Select, administer, and interpret cognitive and psychological standardized assessments for patients with diverse psychological, neurological, and medical conditions
  • Formulate and communicate differential diagnoses
  • Document assessment results and provide treatment recommendations to the care team
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate neuropsychological services, supervised by the Neuropsychologist
  • Complete electronic clinical documentation in accordance with organizational policies and the College of Psychologists of Ontario's Standards of Practice
  • Prepare timely written or verbal reports for team meetings
  • Contribute to collaborative care plans addressing client needs and treatment strategies
