Job Title: Field Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is currently seeking a skilled Field Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Terrace.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment used in construction and forestry operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment and diagnose any issues
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment, including construction and forestry equipment and attachments
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Order parts from parts personnel and use parts catalogues to locate parts
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Must be able to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence
