Position Overview
The individual in this role will be accountable for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of exhibit components, adhering closely to technical drawings and blueprints. The candidate will also provide valuable insights during the design phase to ensure precision between detailed plans and the final product.
Core Responsibilities
Assess Material Needs:
Analyze and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to ascertain specifications. Collaborate with pre-production teams to offer constructive feedback on construction methodologies. Strategize the most effective approach to produce the desired product and implement the plan. Design and fabricate suitable crating as required.Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels to assess inventory; predict necessary supplies; procure and receive materials through purchasing channels. Ensure tools and equipment, including blades and bits, are maintained in optimal condition.Layout Preparation:
Utilize measuring instruments for layout preparation. Employ CAD software to create cutting templates.Exhibit Construction and Repair:
Adhere to established standards and procedures, making adjustments as needed. Fabricate components within the designated time frame. Laminate and finish materials according to established specifications. Utilize tools for measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials. Operate CNC router tables efficiently and safely. Execute installation and dismantling of exhibits.Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions. Assess new equipment and techniques, providing recommendations to management. Ensure safe operation of CAD software and CNC equipment.Workplace Safety and Cleanliness:
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.Required Qualifications:
Completion of secondary education. Successful completion of a three to four-year apprenticeship program.or
A combination of over four years of practical experience in the trade, along with some high school, college, or industry coursework in carpentry. Valid passport with the ability to travel as required. Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary. Capacity to perform under tight deadlines and pressure. Proficiency with computers and CNC machinery is preferred.
