POSITION OVERVIEW

Canucks Sports & Entertainment is on the lookout for a proactive and skilled Merchandise Procurement Specialist to enhance our retail division. This role will be pivotal in curating and acquiring a diverse selection of products that resonate with our brand identity and cater to the preferences of our varied clientele. The focus will be on enriching our product range, boosting sales, and advancing our retail expansion strategy across all business segments, including the Vancouver Canucks and ecommerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and procuring merchandise, ensuring a well-rounded assortment of staple items, trendy products, and market favorites.
  • Cultivating and sustaining partnerships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Evaluating market dynamics, industry trends, and competitor strategies to uncover avenues for product innovation and exclusive partnerships.
  • Managing, executing, and reconciling internal purchase orders across departments.
  • Overseeing inventory levels and interpreting sales data to enhance stock management.
  • Collaborating closely with the Senior Manager of Retail Operations on inventory replenishment strategies.
  • Creating sales forecasting models and leveraging data insights to predict sales trends, popular items, and seasonal demand.
  • Partnering with the Director of Merchandise to oversee the budget for purchases, effectively allocating resources to maximize profitability across product categories.
  • Establishing the merchandising standards and vision for product display across all retail locations.
  • Providing support during event nights and weekends as necessary to ensure operational success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Merchandising, or Sports Management.
  • 1-2 years of experience in merchandise procurement, ideally within the sports sector.
  • A solid understanding of fan culture related to NHL and NLL, along with knowledge of sports merchandise trends.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ecommerce systems and retail operations.
  • Expertise in inventory management, sales forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.

  • This is an onsite position based in a vibrant urban setting.
