Respiratory Therapist I Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at BC Children's Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the interdisciplinary team's efforts to deliver exceptional care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide respiratory therapy expertise to patients in the PICU, including assessment, treatment, and education.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen therapy devices, and other life-supporting equipment.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care examination.
- Current and continuing registration with the British Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
- Current Basic Life Support certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
